Brian Cheang is a registered lawyer at the Macau Lawyers Association since 2014. He joins “Vong Hin Fai Lawyers & Private Notary” since 2015, and is currently a partner lawyer of the firm. In January 2020, he was granted the qualification of Hong Kong and Macau lawyers by the Department of Justice, Guangdong Province, and is currently Macau lawyer of Renhe QiBang Xianhui (Hengqin) Joint Law Firm. In October 2022, he was granted qualification to practice as lawyer in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area by the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province, and since then serves as a “GBA lawyer” in Renhe Qibang Xianhui(Hengqin) Joint Venture Law Firm. He is also a part-time lecturer of Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology, the Macau Institute of Management and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Macau teaching, respectively, General Theory of Macau Commercial Law, Legal Assistant Certificate Course and Macau Bankruptcy Legal System and Guangdong-Macau Entrepreneurship Law Foundation Course.

Brian Cheang was granted the University Diploma of Portuguese “Diploma Universitário de Português Língua Estrangeira” from the University of Lisbon in 2007. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon) with a Bachelor Degree in Law in 2011, and completed his Master Degree in Law in Portuguese language at the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau in 2015.

As a lawyer, Brian Cheang is mainly engaged in litigation related to civil, commercial, criminal and administrative affairs. He also provides services of non-litigation affairs related to commercial law, banking law, insurance law, real estate law, etc, as well as preparation of legal opinions and contracts in Chinese, English or Portuguese. He also provides legal advice to companies and public institutions. Moreover, he is also member and mentor of Incubation Team Selection Committee of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of a public university.

In 2017, Brian Cheang was granted the qualification of mediator by the Macau World Trade Center Arbitration Center, and, in 2022, he was appointed as arbitrator of the same Center and of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission.

In terms of social activities, he is the executive vice-president of the Macau Legal Exchange and Promotion Association and deputy convener of Financial Law Research Committee of the same Association.
